Okay, so I was messing around with astrology stuff the other day, right? The title is “canada horoscope founding”. It all started when I was reading about Canada’s birthday, July 1st, 1867. I thought, “Hey, I wonder what Canada’s horoscope is?” Sounds goofy, I know, but I was curious.

First thing I did, naturally, was Google it. I mean, who doesn’t Google everything these days? I typed in “Canada’s birth chart” and a bunch of sites popped up. I clicked on a few different ones, trying to get a sense of what the overall consensus was. They all seemed to agree on using July 1st, 1867, as the “birthdate,” which makes sense.
But then came the tricky part: the time. See, for a proper birth chart, you need the exact time of birth. And turns out, nobody really knows the exact time Canada was founded. I saw some sites using midnight, others using noon, and some even throwing out random guesses. That’s a problem, because the time completely changes the rising sign and the house placements, which are super important for a good astrological reading.
So, I did some digging, looking for historical documents or anything that might give me a clue. I didn’t find a definitive answer, but I did see a few references to the British North America Act, which officially created Canada, being signed in the afternoon. Okay, good, at least I know it wasn’t midnight!
Here’s where I started experimenting. I decided to create a few different charts using different times in the afternoon – say, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM – and see which one resonated the most. I used an online astrology calculator, put in the date (July 1st, 1867) and the location (Ottawa, since that’s the capital), and then just plugged in each of those times. I created a chart for each.
Then I looked at each chart. The sun sign is always Cancer, but the rising sign changes, based on the time. A 1:00 PM chart had one rising sign, a 3:00 PM chart had a different one, and so on. I then started researching the rising signs, and how they might apply to Canada as a country. I tried to see if the rising sign sort of meshed with Canada’s personality and overall vibe.

I spent some time looking at the planetary placements in each chart, too. Where was Mars? Where was Venus? How did those placements change depending on the time? And how might those placements affect Canada’s energy and destiny?
My “final” chart. After a few hours of fiddling around, I settled on 3:00 PM as the most likely time. I know, it’s still a guess, but it felt right. The chart for that time put Canada’s ascendant in Libra. With a Libra rising, Canada would value balance, fairness, and diplomacy. It would be charming and aesthetically oriented.
Look, I’m not a professional astrologer or anything. It was just a fun little experiment. But after going through the whole process, I have to say, it’s pretty cool to think about Canada having its own unique astrological blueprint. Gives you a different way of looking at the country.
